About CUPE Local 4207

Who We Are

The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) is Canada's largest Union. With more than 455,000 members from coast to coast, CUPE represents members in a wide range of occupations. We are employed by municipalities, school boards, hospitals and nursing homes, libraries, social service agencies, public utilities, the CBC, the airlines, universities, and other institutions. We have been active as Local 4207 at Brock University since 1997 and ratified our second Collective Agreement in February 2001.
We need your support on the front line!
Please contact a Faculty Steward, Executive Officer, or the Local 4207 office for ways to become more involved in your Union.
Your Rights and Responsibilities

Your rights and responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant, Marker-Grader, Lab Demonstrator, Course Coordinator, or Contract Faculty are laid out in a Collective Agreement between the Union and the Brock University Employer.
You can find electronic copies of the Collective Agreement linked from every page on the site, in either html or pdf format. In order to view pdf files, please download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software. A hard copy should be provided to you by the employer with your first contract. Copies also are available by request at the Union office (Taro 448).
Remember that two parties -- with often very different perspectives -- were involved in the creation of this contract. Regardless of what you may have heard, it represents a collectively negotiated and legally binding agreement between you and your employer.
Read your Collective Agreement! Know your legal rights!
If you have questions or concerns about hiring, workload, harassment, or any other labour-related issue, or if you feel the Agreement is being violated by your university employer
